DMC Recovery is based in Stockport, where we have a local office and a team of staff working for us, so why do we also have a team in India working with us?

What is Outsourcing?

There are different types of outsourcing, for instance, domestic or international. You can also set up with your outsourced team directly –or through a third party company known as an Employer of Record (EOR). Using an EOR can be easier; they will find and employ the additional staff on your behalf, as well as take care of the HR, payroll, and navigate the international labour laws for the country you’re outsourcing to.  We outsource directly to Coactive Outsourcing pvt Limited.  At present we are their only client.  Their model is different to some outsourcing businesses as they commit to ensure that the staff working on our assignments are working exclusively for us.  They are also office based.  This enables us to build strong relationships with the team members.

Why We Have a Team in India

We originally only employed one person to help us, but they’ve proved so valuable to our business that we now have three members of staff in India, and they have their own dedicated office space in a very smart air-conditioned building.

Outsourcing to India specifically is very popular – in fact, it’s the most popular country to outsource to. Compared with other countries, India has lower labour costs, a high portion of English speakers, and their government actively promotes outsourcing by offering tax incentives and other kinds of support to businesses setting up in India.

The most popular industry for outsourcing is IT services, such as software development, customer service, and data processing, but we have been very fortunate to find members of staff who have experience in UK insolvency

The Downsides to Outsourcing

Outsourcing is not for everyone, and it can be quite difficult to find the right people to work for you when you’re 4,700 miles away and five and a half hours behind India. It’s also important to be aware of the potential risk of being scammed, so due diligence when finding your team is crucial. We trust our team in India implicitly, but it was nice to visit them in person in February and build a stronger relationship with the team.

Another potential issue to look out for is quality control.  Many outsourcing businesses work on a task based system where your task is added to a queue which is worked by the next available person. The Coactive model, where we have relationships with the individual team members, is very effective and allows us to maintain great relationships with each member of the team.

DMC Recovery is One Team

We talk about ‘Team India’ and ‘Team UK’, but we view them as two integral parts of a single team, and we couldn’t operate without both of them.

When visiting our office in India recently, we got to see how they operate up close and personal, and to see that it’s not very different from how we operate in the UK. For us, this is a valuable investment and one of the reasons that DMC Recovery is able to run as efficiently as we do. This in turn gives us more time back to be able to look after each client with the same high level of care and due diligence that they deserve.
